There’s a ton of sunscreen options out there, but most of our biggest brands contain harmful chemicals that get absorbed into our skin and then enter our bloodstream. Two chemicals to be on the lookout for are:
OXYBENZONE: is an endocrine disruptor. Once it’s absorbed through our skin and enters our bloodstream it mimics estrogen in the body. Our hormonal balance is delicate, so take care to protect it.
RETINYL PALMITATE: when used as a sunscreen has been shown to accelerate the growth of skin lesions and tumors in recent studies.
